One of the most common questions after you get into Swing Dancing is how to find a Dance Partner. This podcast begins with Evita stumbling to explain the difficulty of this subject, ultimately coming to the conclusion, it takes a long time to develop a good partnership. Michael and Evita tell you how they became partners and give advice on other ways of finding a dance match. Taking Lindy Hop and Swing classes, working on swing dance lessons together and training for contests or choreography are great starts.

I was new to Denver, and was driving to the Mercury Cafe for swing night when I saw a corgie puppy that was so cute I instantly began crying. I got to the Merc and he ask me to dance and I said, “yes, but first, you don’t know me, and I don’t know you, but I have to tell you about this dog I just saw….”.
Thanks for the enjoyable podcast. Always nice to hear the history of a dance couple. Our story is much simpler. I grew up being afraid to dance, and after my divorce a woman in my therapy group decided it was stupid to be afraid to dance, and insisted that we go Israeli folk dancing that night. I danced somewhere every night after that for the next 4 years. About that time Eileen divorced her non-dancing first husband, and decided that she would only date dancers. Her filter was to join a dance group, dance with every single guy in the group, then push on to the next group. I think she was worn out when she got to me, so I won, and we have been together and dancing ever since.
Ha ha, beautiful story Terry. Thank you for sharing.
