I recently bought a pair of Aldo’s dress shoes which are working really well for me (I find shoes by Aldo to generally be super light, and inexpensive ). I found a nice pair that fits my feet perfectly thanks to Doriel (in Rochester) and it looks super simple and classy as well. I took the pair and went to a cobbler and insert some leather on the bottom, bought some moisture and shock absorbant insoles insoles to keep my feet and the leather cool after long hours of dancing, and then bought some general leather maintenance products in order to keep the shoe looking and feeling strong for as long as possible (beeswax cream and a horse hair brush). Also bought cedar shoe trees which maintains the shoes after sweating and absorbs any extra moisture, acids, salts, etc. Overall, I find the shoes (with the accessories) to be very functional and stylish. I would say that its on the cheaper side considering its quality as everything mentioned cost me a total of about $130, and I’m expecting it to last quite a long time. Just thought I’d share my recent shoe escapade!
I personally like Toms. They are as soft as slippers, easy on my feet and have slippery soles. You can even dance on pavement in them. A little flashier (and more expensive) but still very comfortable are Saint Savoy Shoes.
I love Toms too! I found that Keds were usually too narrow for my little frog feet and took longer to break in. Toms also seem easier to pack in suitcases. But I also have to say that neither Keds nor Toms give a lot of support for impact. For awhile I had these Gold sparkly Toms that I wore all the time.
